Mass Effect 2 PS3 to hit retail and PSN simultaneously

Come January 18th, Mass Effect 2 is making the move to PlayStation 3 exclusively at retailers. Or so we thought.

As it turns out, Mass Effect 2 is also coming to PlayStation Network, like a few other high-profile PlayStation 3 games have already done (inFAMOUS, etc.). Not only is it coming to the PlayStation Store — it’s coming to the PlayStation Store on January 18th, the same day it launches in retailers.

We haven’t seen many simultaneous retail/downloadable launches this generation, so whenever a publisher like Electronic Arts decides to do one, it’s best we applaud. Some people like to download games. Others like to own physical copies. This way pleases us all.

That is cool, but no surprise. EA is planning a huge Digital campaign throughout 2011.
Expect to see this alot more from EA in the future.

Not long to go now for us PS3 owners, i just hope we don’t see game freeze ups like the demo had since this is meant to be the best version of Mass Effect 2 released.

Oh and to FinalFantasy_fangirl, love your profile pic.
