Soul Calibur is back

Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada gave fans two small Christmas presents yesterday. The first present being a new trailer for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and the second being a tease at an all-new Soul Calibur.

In his Twitter gift, he linked to the profile of Daishi Odama, designer of Soul Calibur IV and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny. On Odama-san’s profile, only one tweet existed, reading: “SC is back! Get ready, fans!”

He then linked to the image posted above, which shows him at his work station, presumably designing swords for the new game.

That’s all we’ve got for now. Let’s hope something concrete comes out in early 2011.

    Now this is the greatest news i’ve heard all year. Seems that all those petitions me and other fans signed up for have payed off in the end. SoulCalibur is back.

    Definately looking forward to this, Soul Calibur is an excellent series. Probably my favourite fighter along with Dead or Alive.

      Yeah I agree, the graphics and gameplay were cool but the story just sucked. Algol was the worst final boss Soul Calibur has ever had.

        Soul Calibur 3 is IMHO the best. Story Mode was fun and this weird strategy mode was good, too. And no Star Wars!

          Soul Calibur II was my favourite because Taki had the best move set out of all the Soul Calibur’s. I hope they bring back that move set for Taki in this next Soul Calibur. Even Mitsurugi had an awesome move set in Soul Calibur II.

    I just can’t wait to get some trophies for this. SC4′s Tower of Lost Souls was pretty good for a challenge but after I started trophy whoring it turned into kind of a buzz kill. I don’t think I’ma waste my time finishing it now.
