Nomura: ‘Don’t forget Lightning’
by [@salromano] at 11:43 AM EDT, December 14, 2010 .

An interesting update from Tetsuya Nomura today. All Japanese Square-Enix Members accounts with an ‘Ultimate’ status on their name received a special Christmas present from the Final Fantasy designer and director.

The gift: an art plate with an original illustration of Final Fantasy XIII protagonist Lightning. To her left reads: “She must not be forgotten.”

Odd, don’t you think? Perhaps Nomura is subtly hinting at a sequel or new game involving her? Perhaps something to be unveiled during January 18′s Square Enix conference? Square Enix did say they’d be interesting in doing another if there is enough demand.

Only time will tell.

Thanks, GAF.

I’m pretty sure it’s just about the 360 version of FFXIII in Japan

Either that, or Dissidia 012 Duodecim.

Japanese wouldn’t make a big deal out of something like that – don’t forget that they literally don’t give a damn about Xbox.

By the way, Lightning was a great character, even if the game is not so great for some guys.

I don’t think it’s anything plus it’s like him to drop vague statements.

Don’t! She isn’t a very good character, there wasn’t a good Final Fantasy character since 9 or 10.

10? I love 10 but Tidus was pretty annoying and, IMO, didn’t get NEAR enough development as Light….

Not saying her real name until the end isn’t really a good example for character depth xD
Every character in FF12 and 13 left me pretty cold and unmoved.
Tidus was at least a good Blitzball player ;)

Lightning is my all-time favorite game character. FF 13 is one of the best games EVER MADE. A visionary art masterpiece…

I just LOVE how this game seems to have quite literally SPLIT the fanbase clean in half. One who hates it with gusto and one who loves it for what it is XD

those who loved the game were probably just going crazy over the games graphics, b/c there is nothing else to like about FFXIII.
