Xbox 360 should look forward to more Kinect titles in 2011. A recent interview with Xbox Group Product Manager David Dennis reveals that Microsoft’s future “will be centered around Kinect,” but that “core franchises and new IP” are also part of the plan.
“Our business is about long-term sustainability of the platform. We have internal numbers that we’re forecasting but haven’t put anything out there yet,” Dennis told IGN. “It’s going to be central to the platform and everything we’re doing in the future will be centered around Kinect.” Dennis made sure to point out that this doesn’t mean every core game will be Kinect-compatible.
“We’ll continue to invest in Kinect games but then also invest in the core franchises and new IP that are centered around core gaming.”
Dennis goes on to promise great momentum for Microsoft in 2011, adding: “We have other games in the pipeline, Kinect games, non-Kinect games, core and casual games, and other third-party titles. We’ve also got some tricks up our sleeve that we haven’t announced on the Xbox Live front as well. I think we certainly feel like we have the setup for great, continued momentum.”
We look forward to seeing what you have in store, Microsoft.

Hopefully the Kinect releases become more in tune with the core audience. Other than that, it sounds good to me.
Xbox is going hard after the Wii, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Doesn’t matter what MS says, they have abandoned their core audience in favor of little kids and old ladies.
Personally, I don’t care for Kinect or for their core games. I mean, I like their core games but they released 2 Fables, what will be a third Gears, and have had 3 true Halo titles, and what will be the second Forza on the 360. I hope they have a lot of dedication in new IPs!
