Microsoft launches Xbox LIVE Rewards

Last October, Microsoft announced they were testing out a new rewards program for Xbox LIVE subscribers. Today, over a year later, the Xbox LIVE Rewards Program has gone public, offering subscribers Microsoft Points for various actions performed on their Xbox 360s.
For example, if you renew a 12 Month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership, you’ll get 200 free Microsoft Points. Are you a Gold Subscriber activating Netflix? That’s 100 Microsoft Points earned, for you.
Microsoft’s put up a whole breakdown of the program at Xbox LIVE’s official Rewards site, where you can also join the program. Check that out at the link.

This is probably them trying to compensate for raising the price by $10. Why not give out points? It’s handing out money only to get it back anyway.
Makes no sense like this – pay 10$ more, but get some MS Points. I mean, it’s a good thing, but compared to those monthly payments, i think 200MSP “gratis” are no so gratis after all…
@AiQi. The whole point of the program is to give you rewards for stuff you already do. So I wouldn’t complain, really.
