Namco Bandai’s Knights Contract is all set for an early 2011 release, the company’s announced today. The medieval game of swordsmen and magic, developed by Game Republic, launches on February 22, 2011.
The game follows the story of Heinrich, an executioner immortalized by the resurrected witch, Gretchen, who he is now forced to work with in order to rid the land of the enemies that now lurk its surface. Just make sure Gretchen doesn’t die, as her “magical prowess and mortality is the key to the duo’s survival.”
A plethora of new screenshots and a new gameplay video have been released alongside the announcement. Check out the screenshots at the gallery. Check out the new footage below.

Namco couldn’t have picked a better date, what with Bulletstorm and Killzone 3 releasing on the same day.

From a western gamer: AWESOME! GAME REPUBLIC is one of my favorite developers, visionary art masters. KNIGHT’S CONTRACT will be incredible. I love gothic art fantasy. My one request: JAPANESE VOICE TRACK OPTION PLEASE! By the way, if you have not bought (NEW) copies of the art masterworks GENJI, FOLKLORE, & MAJIN & THE FORSAKEN KINGDOM, you are seriously missing out…
These are the kinds of games we should all be supporting (instead of BULLETSTORM & KILLZONE 3 etc.)…
Hm, this is coming sooner than I thought it would do. Looks pretty good, though I did notice some screen-tearing in the video. Not too bad though. The art style and premise seem quiet interesting though, and whilst I’m not 100% sold, it looks like the sort of thing I might pick up
Wow Namco! Way to pick the launch date to be the same day as heavy jitters like Bulletstorm and Killzone…
Seriously who runs this company? They make some really bad business decisions…
