Dragon Age II video explains combat
by [@salromano] at 02:50 PM EDT, December 18, 2010 .

A new video clip released by BioWare details the two methods of combat in their upcoming Dragon Age II. You can play the game in real-time (as an action RPG) or you can play it with a pause-and-play approach, issuing orders tactically and strategically.

The video shows the same situation twice, with both methods of combat applied to show the difference in gameplay.

Dragon Age II is out for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on March 8, 2011 in North America and on March 11 in Europe.

I honestly think both method of combat look equally as good as each other. The pause-and-play is tactical and will no doubt satisfy WRPG purists, while the action combat looks smooth and engaging, without losing it’s unique persona. Given the choice, I would most likely pick the action RPG combat though.

I really cant wait for this game though. Even though the style and look of the game is pretty different from Origins, I have yet to disapointed with anything Bioware have put out.

Happy to hear that we will have options! I was on fence after seeing first gameplay footage. Pause & Play for me.
