Discussionist: Jingle all the way

Merry Christmas, happy holidays , and so on! As we approach the closure of 2010 and opening of 2011, we’d like to ask a few questions. What gifts did you get this holiday season? They don’t have to be games — they could be clothes, tech, money, cars, we don’t care, we just want to hear about it.
How did you spend your holiday? A big party? Or a small gathering? Perhaps you’re not too big on celebration and ordered take-out, instead. Don’t be shy! Share away!
Finally, what are you looking forward to in 2011? Once again, this isn’t limited to games. Could be anything. Maybe you’re putting down the last payment on that loan you took out ten years ago. That’s something to look forward to.
Happy holidays, all! Let the discussion commence.

Happy Holidays everyone!
I got a Sony Bravia HDTV for Christmas and its connected to my PS3 with a monster HDMI cable^_^
Merry Christmas and hopefully you all have wonderful New Year’s Eve :D
i didn’t spend anything this christmas, but we visited lot’s places here in califrornia, not to mention we played in the arcades, probably the best deal ever we had was pay $12 and you get to play in the arcades ALL DAY. YES ALL DAY. it’s not a christmas special, that’s how they attract tourists, since not many people go to their arcades(which is understandable since we went to the Golfland which is near in the mountains) hopefully i get to buy tons of games before the year ends,
damn it’s already 2011!!!!!!! Happy New Year Guys :P
I got Heavy Rain and Trinity Universe for Christmas. Nothing says happy holidays better than Origami murders ;P Spent the Christmas in Singapore, driving there was boring though (If u can guess what country I live in from that sentence, you get a digital cookie :D)
Merry Christmas y’all at Scrawl, or uh….whatever you’ll be called eventually!
I said it before but may as well say it again “officially” – Merry Christmas Scrawl!
Gaming wise this Xmas, I got AC Brotherhood, Fable 3, 007 Bloodstone and the PSMove, all of which are shaping up great so far! The Move is a lot better than I expected it to be!
Is Fable 3 any good? It’s on sale in the UK — I’m tempted.
nothin special for me. just had a small dinner at home. called a few relatives overseas. and had countless matches of tekken6 with my bro. and today, i plan to end the day with a Rurouni Kenshin, Hajime No Ippo (The Fighting!) and Gundam Wing marathon :D
looking forward to Mass Effect 2(PS3) next year. sooo excited.
happy holidays scrawl :P
I didn’t get much for Christmas, myself, besides a couple of bucks from a few family members. The holiday was great, though! Was in NY for Christmas Eve and in Philadelphia for Christmas Day. Got to see the whole family, my twin baby brothers, the whole lot of ‘em.
Looking forward to loads of games in 2011. Hoping Namco Bandai wises up and localizes all of those Tales games for PS3. Sure would make me hella happy. Also looking forward to mid-January — the Square Enix press conference. Maybe we’ll finally get a date for Versus XIII (a man can dream).
And speaking of dreams — this is off-topic — all of you must watch Inception. I swear it’s the best movie I’ve ever seen. I actually ordered in on blu-ray from Amazon after renting it. I never buy movies.
My ps3 fat died a week ago and my dad bought me a new one and a driving force logitech wheel for my gran turismo! Woohoo. I also got a gaming headphone for my pc! “sc2″ and before the new year ends we going out to find a new car! Life is great.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all
THE DAY OF:
Great dinner, great company, horrible game by the Lakers. Cliche Christmas morning. Girls pouncing on the bed to see what Santa put under the tree. Opened gifts, escaped the sting of Barbie doll clamshell casing, cleaned up the whirlwind of ravaged, war-torn wrapping paper; surprised the misses with an iPad and as a joke the shake weight (not really a joke but then again I need to work out more too).
Best gift was got a few months ago when we moved into our first brand new home. So for me Christmas came in September.
ALL ABOUT ME:
As luck would have it my PS3 (original 60GB with BC) suffered at the hands of the dreaded YLOD. Found an inexpensive repair shop (about $84 including round-trip shipping) but they’re closed over the holidays while also relocating their facility. Luckily Santa brought me a new 360 with Kinect and I picked up Enslaved for $20 about a month ago when it was on special at Amazon.com.
And let me say this about Kinect: I was totally wrong about it. Sure there are some inconsistencies about the experience but it is an experience and it sucks you in with its cutesy characters and (as far as I’m concerned) fun and easy setup.
I don’t see myself using it outside of Kinect-enabled games but the experience is actually a lot of fun despite the lag, which I have to admit isn’t really that bad. But let it be known, if you can’t land an airplane in your living room don’t bother getting Kinect. I have a good amount of room but I’m inches away from my couch making certain games hard to play.
BOTTOM LINE:
Had a great Christmas. Seeing the joy on my kids’ and wife’s happy faces and having friends over to MY HOUSE was awesome.
