BioWare’s latest VGA tease: red herring
BioWare’s put up a new hint for their upcoming game reveal at the Video Game Awards next week. Another 2D barcode, this time it translates to binary code, which ultimately translates to a link with a red herring fish image on the page (reproduced above). A red herring?
“Red herring is an idiomatic expression referring to a rhetorical tactic of diverting attention away from an item of significance,” reads the Wikipedia definition.
Sony Computer Entertainment Russia recently “confirmed” Mass Effect 3 on their Twitter account. Perhaps BioWare is trying to tell us their reveal isn’t the game we think it is? That being Mass Effect 3.

Well, it definately looks as though Bioware are telling us it isn’t ME 3…or could that be the red herring in itself? Altough taken literally, it would seem safe to say that the ME 3 ‘confirmation’ was not true.
