A bit insane. THQ core games VP Danny Bilson has said that the the recently announced inSANE trilogy, lead by Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro, will take eight to ten years to complete.
“This is an epic project. It’s going to take the next eight to ten years to build all three chapters of this game,” Bilson told StuffWeLike.
Del Toro added: “I think that what people need to understand, when you come from a medium like movies, is that the narrative medium of videogames is entirely different.
“The rules are different and the way you tell the story is different. You don’t come into this world and try to apply the same rules. I’m here to learn and try some crazy shit.”
The first game in the inSANE trilogy, announced at the Video Game Awards last weekend, has been in development for six months at Saints Row developer Volition, Inc. It’ll launch in 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Thanks, MCV.

nice
I will be 30 by then
Not a very good idea. In 10 years time, we’ll be 1 or 2 generations further. I don’t think that anyone will be interested in this anymore.
Not necessarily. If the game is good enough and people are wanting more, then I see no problem with the entire trilogy spanning 8-10 years. Other horror franchises have survived cross generations, for example Silent Hil. Of course, in defense here, each SH game has only being related by mythos and imagery, and not exactly full sequels. But I can’t see the problem if the game’s are of top quality. Though who knows, at this point?
well better be good
Del Toro is my all-time favorite visionary artist. A dream come true. I was hoping for some PS3/360 gothic fantasy (PAN’S LABYRINTH / HELLBOY-esque), but this will still be amazing… (I HOPE WAYNE BARLOWE IS DOING THE ART DIRECTION)….
