Yamauchi: Gran Turismo 5 discs “being stamped as we speak”

Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of the Gran Turismo franchise, has told vehicle enthusiast site Jalopnik during an interview at SEMA 2010 that Gran Turismo 5 has completed development.
“The [Gran Turismo 5] discs are being stamped as we speak,” he told the site.
Earlier today, rumors surfaced that there is “not much hope” for a Gran Turismo 5 release in 2010. Yamauchi’s comments at SEMA may prove otherwise.
Let’s hope for the best.

Come on December 7th-9th. They wouldn’t want to release it that much later than that, if they wanted to reap the benefits of holiday sales.
This is good news though..
Don’t sacrifice integrity for hits. I don’t think it speaks well for the quality of content on the site if you have two contradictory stories posted in such a short span of time.
Eurogamer’s ‘sources’ are GT5 product pages on Walmart. And SEMA, where Kazunori was guaranteed to be present, wasn’t going anywhere. Of course the first thing people will want to know from him is the status of GT5.
Obviously GT5′s first officially announced release date is going to unleash a storm of straw-grasping stories. There’s already enough FUD on the internet. There’s no need to add more. I think you run a good site with up to date information, but maybe sometimes it’s good to be careful.
I think Sal’s done really well in that regard.. I read another news story on different sites claiming to have a release date.. once, maybe twice a day.
He’s only had… 2 articles in total about a possible release date.
Well on Amazons order page it lists the game as shipping December 31st, so pressing the discs now and everything else that comes with getting the game in to the shops would in fact hint, that *shock gasp* Amazon may be right.
I like to see conflicting stories.
I’d still chalk December 31st up to a placeholder date for ‘sometime this year’. Maybe not, but would just seem strange to release a game on New Years Eve.
This is wierd. My buddie went into a Gamestop to Pre-order GT5 yesterday, and said he saw all of the employees putting up signs and advets for the game. All of which said in bold lettering: 1-1-11.
If the game is really coming out very soon, why would Gamestop be throwing placeholder dates on all of their advertising posters for the game?
Something is screwy around here. Stmped or not, I’m no longer holding my breath.
If your buddy or yourself can get us a picture or two of those signs, that would be great.
Yeah, that’d be excellent to see photos of. It’d be kinda strange to release a game on a weekend though..
