Source: Elder Scrolls V definitely in development
by [@salromano] at 03:46 PM EDT, November 22, 2010 .

The Elder Scrolls V is in development, according to a source of Eurogamer Denmark.

Their source is said to have “confirmed” the game’s development with the game documents in-hand; it being a direct sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The Denmark team apparently flew out to meet this source, however, could not disclose details about their flight or the source they spoke with. They stand rigid on their source, though, saying that they can confirm the game’s production “without hesitation”.

We’re assuming that it’ll hit PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC if it’s actually in development.

Oblivion released on Xbox 360 and PC in 2006, then in 2007 on PS3. We’re about due for a sequel, don’t you think? Stay tuned.

I can still remember the first time I played Morrowind and Oblivion to this day. Such excellent games. This is great news for me.

Oblivion is one of the greatest games ever made, the fact that this is a direct sequel to Oblivion just makes me all the more excited for it. While I feel it’s long overdue, I hope they take the time to make a game as polished as Oblivion and don’t rush it out.

I hope they built a new engine for the game. While I loved ES4 and Fallout 3 and NV, the graphics are grossly outdated and need to utilize newer technology. I realize they’ll never be as polished as say Call of Duty or Assassins Creed, they’re bordering last generation video game systems and thats not acceptable for today’s video games.
