Sony’s lifted the lid on loads of LittleBigPlanet news today, including the announcement of a PlayStation Network spin-off and an upcoming LittleBigPlanet 2.

Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves

This is a LittleBigPlanet spin-off for PlayStation Network that utilizes the PlayStation Move controller — it was rumored last week. The ten-level long game has players taking on challenges issued by Terrance Dactyl in attempt to take down the king, Evil Big Rex.

Like LittleBigPlanet 2‘s Move compatibility, Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves has one player using the move controller and another using the DualShock controller. The player with the Move controller will aid the player with the DualShock in completing the levels’ various puzzles.

As the above might have had you assume, it’s a Move-required co-op-only experience. It’ll release on December 14 for $5.99. It’ll be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The game will also be available free on the LittleBigPlanet 2 disc, for those who want to wait until January 18.

LittleBigPlanet 2 Story Mode Demo

A story mode demo for LittleBigPlanet 2 will hit PlayStation Network on December 21. It’ll give players a taste of the sequel’s new gameplay elements including the Grapple Hook, Sackbots, and Creatinator.

LittleBigPlanet 2 Beta

In early December, Sony will be sending out a new batch of LittleBigPlanet 2 beta invitations to PlayStation Plus members, community contributors, and even hold a few giveaways.
