Rune Factory Oceans’ short load times in motion
by [@salromano] at 09:35 PM EDT, November 11, 2010 .

Rune Factory Oceans, Marvelous and Neverland Co’s upcoming PS3/Wii entry in the Rune Factory franchise, has seriously short load times. A new video issued on the game’s development blog today proves it.

The video, running the Wii version of the game, shows Azel (the male character) running around the game world, traversing between two areas. You’ll see literally one-second load times between each area.

For those wondering why they chose to post a clip of the Wii version rather than the PS3 version, producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto explains that the Wii was closest to him when he decided to take the gameplay clip. According to him, the PlayStation 3 and Wii versions both boast the same load times.

“We’ve broken the two second wall for switching maps and other areas,” Hashimoto wrote. “Thanks go out to the programmers who continued their research over a long period!”

Closing off this load time-based dev blog, Hashimoto said that there will be bath scenes in the game. Woo-hoo!

Whoa. That is good news. That’s impressive.
Also, the graphics in the Wii version looks pretty good, really.

This game intrigues me the more I see of it.. Here’s hoping for an English release.

    • Chances are highly likely. Every other Rune Factory game has seen a release in the west.
