Ever since trophies were introduced to PlayStation 3, fans of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots have been at Konami’s feet begging for a trophy patch (myself, included). While Konami’s never confirmed anything, Kojima Productions’ Sean Eyestone has said to “remain patient” on a patch. It never happened.

Now, if an image that appears to be an updated Greatest Hits box art for Metal Gear Solid 4 is to be believed, trophies may be well on their way. The back of the box lists support for multiplayer, voice chat, and “trophies”.

I don’t remember trophies being in Metal Gear Solid 4, do you (your answer should be no)? Exactly.
