Final Fantasy XIV goes gold for PS3 [Update]
by [@salromano] at 10:58 PM EDT, November 16, 2010 .

Update: My apologies. Final Fantasy XIV hasn’t gone gold on PlayStation 3. The game is 100 percent ported over from the PC version and the staff is currently optimizing the game for the PS3 hardware. (via IGN)

This week’s issue of Famitsu has provided a welcoming update for the PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIV.

The PlayStation 3 version of the already-released PC MMORPG is finally complete. Famitsu says that the game’s completed development and is playable right now.

The preview reveals that the PS3 and PC versions are running on the same servers and that the only separation between the two are slight differences in textures, which is apparently not too noticeable when the game is in motion.

Thanks, Andriasang.

It basically means that the developer has completed the ‘master copy’ of the game and it is now being sent for mass production!

My guess is the big updates coming to the game in Nov/Dec are not on the disc, and will have to be downloaded.

If the March 2011 date is still valid for outside of Japan, it will probably come with the Nov/Dec updates, but maybe not the first 2011 update.
