EA registers SSX: Deadly Descent domains
by [@salromano] at 06:31 PM EDT, November 8, 2010 .

Bricks have been dropped. Electronic Arts has recently registered five new domain names related to their popular snowboarding franchise, SSX, which seem to point the potential forthcoming announcement of a new game in the series titled SSX: Deadly Descent.

The domain registrations are listed below, as spotted by Superannuation:

You’ll notice there’s one in there for SSX: First Descent, as well. We’re assuming Deadly Descent is the title of this potential new game because more domains have been registered for it. Either that, or First Descent is the title of the PSP/DS version of the game.

We’ll keep you updated. If anything, this could end up being one of the Video Game Awards’ big reveals next month.

I just hope they go back to the magic of SSX 3, arguably the best game in the series. When they tried to go too realistic and got rid of the characters they really hurt the franchise.

I want to see the return of Elise, Ellegra and Griff. They could probably stand to redesign characters like Moby and Psymon but otherwise they need to bring back the crazy and cooky characters that made the game so much fun in the first 3 games.

Oh wow, I had all but forgotten about this classic series. SSX Tricky and SSX 3 were without doubt my favourite “sports” games I have played, and so this news is definately making me excited! That said, I do agree with Incredibilistic, I think SSX should be about crazy, OTT characters and style, and not try to be realistic at all.
