Netflix app hits PS3 on October 18
by [@salromano] at 10:20 AM EDT, October 14, 2010 .

While Canada’s been enjoying the Netflix Instant Streaming app on their PlayStation 3s for nearly a month now, us here in the United States have still been stuck on the Instant Streaming disc. That’ll change soon, as SCEA’s announced today that the app will hit our PS3s on October 18.

The app is built from the ground up for PlayStation 3, unlike the current disc app, and allows native use of the DualShock controller. It has a new user interface, making it easier for users to search for new movies and browse their collections at a speedier rate. The app also brings support for 1080i 1080p high-definition and Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 channel surround sound.

A demo of the app can be seen below.

  2. @incredibilistic- The charge is the same, how you obtain through XBL and PSN is obviously different.
