Limbo creators Playdead are working on a brand new property, company CEO Dino Patti has told JoyStiq during Indiecade this weekend.
“I can’t tell much, but I can tell you that if you liked Limbo, it’ll definitely be for you,” he said. “The gameplay style you’ll really like. You’ll feel it’s the same team who made it, but everything will be changed.”
Patti said that while Limbo will remain an Xbox LIVE Arcade “exclusive for life”, this new IP might not be, saying that they want as many people to play their new game as possible.
“We are open for everything. To be honest, we want as many people to play our games as possible. If we end up going exclusive, we may do it for various reasons, but we just want as many people to play the game as possible.”
Patti also admitted the game’s a long ways off, so unfortunately, we’ll be waiting a while to actually get our hands on it.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing/reading something about this. I loved Limbo, such an atmospheric and original game. My only problem with it was it was a very short lived experience, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying every single minuite.
I hope this new game has the same quality and feel of Limbo.
