Killzone 3 beta goes live on October 25th
The Killzone 3 beta is official. Beginning October 25, Sony’s offering the beta exclusively to PlayStation Plus subscribers. There’s a 5,000 invitation limit, though, meaning you’ll have to do a little work to assure your invite.
On October 19, a Killzone 3 XMB theme will appear on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The first 10,000 subs to download the theme will get in (5,000 for US subs and 5,000 for EU subs). Following, you should receive an e-mail on October 25 with the redemption code for the beta.

Well, it was always part of their strategy when they launched plus. They promised exclusive access to betas, now they are delivering with KZ3 and Assassin’s Creed. There are associated costs on their end so it makes sense to me.
I am not hoping to get into this limited beta, even though I am a plus subscriber. I work and won’t be home until two hours after they update PSN.
This is why I signed up for PS Plus. If I have to I’ll take off from work to make sure I’m home at the exact time the theme goes live.
5,000 users will go fast. If you don’t get it in the first 30 minutes there’s probably no chance you’ll get in.
If I had one complaint it’s that even though I’m a Plus member I still have to jump through hoops but I guess it’s par for the course. Maybe they’ll offer a Platinum Plus or VIP membership that gives you access without jumping through hoops.
