Gran Turismo 5 will no longer ship on its previously confirmed November 2 release date. Sony’s announced a delay to an unspecified date for North America, Europe and Japan today, but assured fans that it’ll still launch by the holidays.
“We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season,” SCEA Producer Taku Imasaki wrote on the PlayStation.Blog.
“We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.”
SCEA promises more information’s to arrive in the “near future”. SCEE, on the other hand, has said on Twitter that a new date should arrive by the “before the end of the month”. Rest easy, though, as it’s still guaranteed for the holiday season.

Im not really into racing games – but this one is definitely a must have one. I hope they won’t delay it any more.
Looks like a lot of games are getting delayed recently.
Oh man… another delay. I hope they’re still able to do a near-simultaneous worldwide release.
Otherwise, I fear this’ll come out like December 17 or something… and ‘Europe’ will miss out before Christmas.
Just as well. I’m broke just thinking about all the games I want to get in the next few weeks.
Force Unleashed II, Medal of Honor, Black Ops and I already picked up NBA2K11 (incredible). I’m actually interested in Enslaved too. And I’m sure I’m missing more games so I’m glad they’re taking more time to refine it or do whatever it is they feel they need more time to do.
