PS3 Firmware v3.42 goes live
A new PlayStation 3 firmware was released onto the PlayStation Network tonight. It’s system update version 3.42. We have no idea what it does just yet as Sony’s yet to make any mention of the update.
All we know is that it’s a required update. We’ll download it momentarily to see if anything’s changed. In the meantime, stay tuned for updates. If anything, this update is probably just a patch to combat the recent PSJailbreak hack that’s come out recently.
If we don’t update the post, it’ll be because there’s nothing noticeably different in this firmware. Like I said, it’s probably just a patch sealing up the holes that the recent jailbreak found its way into.
