DmC Devil May Cry gets details and media
by [@salromano] at 12:48 PM EDT, September 15, 2010 .

Capcom’s revealed the first media and details of DmC Devil May Cry this afternoon after announcing it earlier at their Tokyo Game Show press conference. The game, in development at Enslaved studio Ninja Theory, is a reboot of the critically-acclaimed franchise.

Players will enter world where nothing is ever as it seems and the distinction between good and evil is often hard to determine. A new, younger Dante takes the place of protagonist, with players performing the same mix sword and gunplay that the franchise is well known for. Additional weapons, new powers, and revitalized gameplay will encounter the player throughout the game’s rich environment, as well.

Ninja Theory’s Tameem Antoniades and Capcom’s Hedeaki Itsuno are heading the project, making it a true collaboration between east and west. Itsuno has worked on all previous iterations of Devil May Cry in the past, so fans should rest assured it’s being overseen by someone who knows the franchise.

It’s in development for PS3 and Xbox 360. Check out the screenshots at the gallery. The debut trailer can be found below.

I’m guessing this happened when he was under the alias of Tony Redgrave. Either that or this is an “undisclosed” area of his life. lol.

    • I’ve seen some people online speculating that this really isn’t Dante, that it’s rather some imposter — considering the trailer shows the guy locked up in a mental institute.

Maybe the real, white-haired Dante is in the game, but they’re saving it for a later reveal. Maybe this guy’s just thinks he’s Dante, because he’s possibly crazy and all.

Trailer is awesome, I don’t like Dante’s new look. I believe Capcom making this a reboot was wise decision. I didnt expect to like this. I just played the demo of Enslaved and my faith in NT just went up.

I am TOTALLY pissed. This game is NOT what I expected the next DMC to be at all. Its like Capcom is just throwing the last 10 years of the Dante we all know and love out the f***ing window for…this? I named my son after the Character Dante is…not after this little Punk Ass poser.

I hope, for the sake of Capcom, that this kid is just a deranged lunatic that the real Dante ends up decapitating in the intro to the game. The only thing that would leave me to believe this ISN’T Dante, is the fact that they put the True Dante in Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

you know when I heard DMC going to be developed by west I was thinking the main character might looks less boyband and more masculine, but now the main character looks like transsexual, this must be the biggest joke since Yakuza of the End zombie revelations

Capcom is officially dead to me. All respect to Ninja Theory, but stick to Western properties and leave DMC to the Japanese. This new Dante…looks horrible.

We share the same thoughts, my friend.

DMC stays in Japan, or I’m done.
