Volition developing new RPG with Guillermo del Toro?

A new job listing from THQ developer Volition Inc. is searching for a design director to help work on a new action role-playing game. The veteran studio’s handled franchises like Saints Row and Red Faction in the past, but never an RPG.

The listing says that they’re “collaborating with a high-powered creative talent in the entertainment industry to develop this original, unannounced franchise.” Hrm. Sounds a lot like Guillermo del Toro. If the recent LA Times report is to be believed, then del Toro is most likely working with Volition on this.

GamesCom is next week. Perhaps we’ll catch the announcement then?
