Rumor: Mass Effect PS3 announcement tomorrow

Start your engines. Gamescom is starting tomorrow and it looks like the rumors have already begun. NeoGAF user De-Mon is claiming to have knowledge that tomorrow, during their Gamescom press conference, either Sony or Electronic Arts will announce Mass Effect‘s shift to PlayStation 3. He says it’s either going to happen tomorrow or in print magazines a few weeks later.
Apparently, it’s titled Mass Effect: Genesis. We’re assuming it contains Mass Effect 2 in order to make preparations for a multiplatform Mass Effect 3 release, but that’s just our guess. So that means it could include both the first and second game or even something completely new – who knows?
We’ll find out tomorrow.

Sweet! I cant wait to hear this. From the sound of it, “Mass Effect: Genesis”, it might be a prequel.
The “Genesis” or “origin” would make it seem this is the birthing of the universe. While it would make little sense to be a unique prequel title, it seems likely to be ME 1 & 2 combined, a way to get around Microsoft Game Studios having been publisher of the first game. Still, let’s all be sensible and take this with a grain of salt; this isn’t the first time ME rumors for PS3 have been circulating the internet, and seems much in the vein of Metal Gear Solid 4 going to the 360.
On a related note, I’ve always wanted to see Mass Effect, Left4Dead, Gears of War and the first Dead Rising see life on the PS3.
