Red Factions: Battlegrounds announced for PSN, XBLA

THQ has announced Red Faction: Battlegrounds this morning, a downloadable Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network title which we’re assuming will arrive before the release of Red Faction: Armageddon.

During its reveal at GDC Europe, a video was shown demonstrating an arena combat game full of mechsk, tanks, and rovers. The game will have foue-player split-screen co-op and unlockable items for Red Faction: Armageddon.

We’ll await the press release, where we’ll probably get more details and first screenshots.
