EA’s finally announced it. With both German and US rating boards revealing it, the publisher’s finally confirmed that NBA Jam is on the way to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – in downloadable form. They’ll be including it as a free addition (redemption code) to those who purchase NBA Elite 11, as well.

Using the redemption code will give users access to three modes in NBA Jam – Play Now, Classic Campaign, and Online.

“NBA Elite 11 is going to change the way basketball videogames are played,” says Jordan Edelstein, Vice President, Marketing, EA Sports. “The addition of three free downloadable modes of the award winning NBA Jam is an unprecedented value add to a product that is already set to revolutionize the basketball videogame category.”

Judging by the way the press release is written, it sounds like we can expect an NBA Jam with more than three modes to hit the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade, too. The end of the release references the game like so: “NBA ELITE 11 featuring three modes of NBA JAM will release…”.

NBA ELITE 11 is out October 5 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
