Microsoft developing enhanced Xbox 360 controller with “transforming” d-pad

Microsoft’s announced this morning that an enhanced Xbox 360 controller is currently in the works. It’ll launch with the new ‘Play & Charge Kit’ sometime in early 2011.

“The Xbox 360 Wireless Controller with Play & Charge Kit – with Transforming D-pad will be available worldwide beginning early 2011,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Strategy Informer.

No other details were shared. When the company officially announces the controller, expect a press release and snapshots on the site.
