Malicious trades boss kills for new skills
New details on Alvion‘s upcoming downloadable PlayStation Network title Malicious serviced today via a new preview on Famitsu.com. It reveals the game’s level-flow as well as a Mega Man-like boss system.
In Malicious, players fight against a group of creatures known only as the Malicious. Armed with an ancient cloak said to hold the power of the prophets, players will take on various forms to defeat their enemies. These forms include a fist, a shield which will wrap around and protect the player, and even a projectile weapon, allowing players to target enemies with “demon bullets.”
Rather than playing through a complete level to eventually reach the boss, Malicious‘ levels are all nothing but boss fights (along with some lower-level enemies, of course). Players can choose which level they’d like to play, with each boss giving out a new power after their defeat. Players can then use this power against the game’s bosses, so wise choices may be necessary when picking level order.
The game’s out on PlayStation Network in Japan sometime this year. No word yet on a US release.
Thanks, Andriasang.
