First screenshots of Tony Hawk: Shred
by [@salromano] at 05:44 PM EDT, August 8, 2010 .

The first screenshots of Tony Hawk’s latest venture into video games have hit the net today. Tony Hawk: Shred is Hawk’s next outing, and for the sake of good gaming, let’s hope it’ll be a lot better than Ride.

Shred, as you can clearly see in these shots, takes a different visual approach than ride. It’s cartoony, cel-shaded, and looks to have a lot more of a “fun” aspect to it. It’s out sometime this year for PS3 and Xbox 360. See the shots for yourself at the gallery.

Thanks, GamePlayBook.

I haven’t been interested in a Tony Hawk game since the first Xbox/PS3 video was shown. Then I saw the actual game in action and saw how it was NOTHING like the videos they showed.

Maybe the new visual style will add some flair to the otherwise been-there-done-that gameplay.

I’m not too keen on the visual style, and as Incredibilistic says, my interest in the Hawks games have dwindled since THUG 2 back in 2004.

I can understand the cel shading in terms of a “lighter” feeling, but something doesnt feel right about it imo.

I think TH games have possibly shown us everything they can now. I used to love the franchise, but it’s changed so much now
