Hothead Games has announced a sequel to last month’s DeathSpank today. Titled DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue, the upcoming sequel will debut on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade next month.

According to Thongs of Virtue producer Hamish Millar, this sequel was developed alongside the original game, and was actually finished before the first game was even completed development.

“By doing two games back to back, we didn’t get the opportunity to listen to everybody’s feedback and try and incorporate that,” Millar told GameSpot. “But what we did do is take a bit of a guess at what we thought was going to come out of the releases.”

Thongs of Virtue puts DeathSpank in new modern and sci-fi settings, or so the screens reveal. We see DeathSpank wielding bazookas, machine guns, and rifles against alien-like enemies.

The game’s out on PlayStation Network on September 21 and on Xbox LIVE Arcade on September 22.
