Borderlands isn’t quite done yet. 2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced the fourth downloadable expansion to the game this morning, titled ‘Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution’. Out this September for $9.99 on your console marketplace, ‘Robot Revolution’ invites players back to Pandora in order to suppress a deadly revolution held by the once lovable Claptrap robots.

Players are caught in a war between Hyperion Corporation’s armadas and an always-increasing group of “homicidal Claptraps” led by “one of the most eagerly awaited characters in the franchise’s history,” the Ninja Assassin. In exchange for a hefty pay, players must put their differences aside with the Hyperion Corporation and team up in order to stop this Claptrap Revolution and the deadly kung-fu expert, Ninja Assassin.

“A year ago Borderlands was an untested brand that through hard work and a lot of passion, turned out to be one of the best-selling, claptastic and skagtacular games we have ever created,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “A year later, we are releasing our fourth DLC installment, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, which illustrates our enthusiasm for creating highly entertaining content that enhances a franchise. In addition to serving as the perfect bookend to the original game, what gamer doesn’t love a kung-fu-wielding Ninja Assassin Claptrap with nunchuck skills?”

‘Robot Revolution’ offers players over twenty new missions, new boss battles, homicidal Claptraps to wipe out, and local creatures that have been Claptrap’d (think crab-traps, skagg-traps, and rakk-traps). Ten additional skill points and three more backpack slots will also be available to earn.

It’s out this September. Check out the first three screenshots at the gallery.
