The Last Story will not be Sakaguchi’s last game
by [@salromano] at 07:34 PM EDT, July 17, 2010 .

Hironobu Sakaguchi shocked the world last week when a translated blog post said that his upcoming Wii RPG, The Last Story, could be his last game he makes. However, the official English translation released today states otherwise. It looks like his quote was translated out of context.

“The energy poured into this project by the development team and I are 120%,” Sakaguchi wrote on his translated blog. “I’m hoping you can understand that, however on the other hand, I feel worried and nervous like sending my child on a trip alone. Emotionally it feels like this is my last work, while pouring everything I have gotten into this project. Never regret, but now “I’m enjoying”; furthermore, aiming towards completion. The sense of “This is it” relaxes my shoulders, its pleasant feeling to conduct an orchestra by the sense of my intuition.”

As it can clearly be seen, Sakaguchi “emotionally” feels like it is his last work, but never says that it could be.

This is EXTREMELY good news. I absolutely LOVE Mistwalker. I seriously REEAAALLY want a PS3/360 BLUE DRAGON 2 / the revival of CRY ON (it would of been AMAZING) / anything not for Wii. I’m there day one for THE LAST STORY (although I truly wish it was for PS3/360). I gratefully thank Mistwalker for blessing the world with traditional Japanese art RPGs….
