Is this Kinect’s final box art?

Marketing material acquired by Kotaku over the weekend reveals what could be the final box art for Microsoft’s motion controller, Kinect. Holding the Kinect and Kinect-enabled game boxes is a retail stand where stores such as Wal-Mart can market all their Kinect-offerings. The stand is also holding some Xbox 360 + Kinect bundles.
The camera’s color appears to be Purple, judging by the purple waves seen all over the stand and on the peripheral’s box art.
See the images for yourself below. Remember: there is no confirmation that this is final.

I finally got a chance to try out Kinect and it pains me to say that it was kind of fun.
They had the bowling game on display and it was kind of cool to see the onscreen avatar follow (some of) my movements.
One of my suspicions was right though, you can’t move around too much as you could inadvertently enable an action you didn’t mean to. I got a little excited about getting a strike and when I waved my arms I accidentally triggered my avatar to grab the bowling ball on the left (I’m right handed).
Overall it was a lot cooler than I thought and I can see how this will be something people will gravitate to.
Minutes later I commented to the Sony Style store rep that they should have Move on demo and then heard something really interesting: the release date of Move.
The store rep said November although I thought I’d initially heard September. Looks like Sony is going to try to go head-to-head with MS and Kinect.
Not a smart “move” if you ask me.
Sony’s already announced the release date of Move for all three territories back at E3: http://gematsu.com/2010/06/playstation-move-hits-september-starts-at
Not bad box art. I still haven’t been able to try the Kinect yet as none of the UK stores seem to have demo stations. However I’m glad to see it seems to work well going by incredibilistic’s play test.
The main thing which is still putting me off with the Kinect is the price point, that $149.99 figure we keep hearing is feeling a bit expensive imo, specially considering the Move’s cheaper price.
Still, If and when good ‘core’ games become available for Kinect, I will be sure to give it a try
