Insomniac has said in its most recent newsletter that it has a new PlayStation 3 project in the works set for revelation “sometime between now and the Penny-Arcade Expo over Labor Day weekend.”

They’ll be demoing and discussing the project during a panel on September 4th at 6:30pm in the Serpent Theater during PAX Central. G4TV’s Adam Sessler will be moderating. They’re “very excited to finally reveal this project” and “couldn’t resist being the first to share the news with you”.

Bear in mind that because they mention PlayStation 3 only, this is probably a separate project from their multiplatform game with Electronic Arts.

If they’re revealing it sometime between now and PAX, then Gamescom in Cologne seems like the perfect place for the it to go down. It’s been rumored Resistance 3 has been in development for some time now. Could this be what they’re working on?
