Final Fantasy creator has “strong feeling” that he’s crafting his Last Story

Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi has said that his upcoming Wii role-playing game, The Last Story, may just be the last story he tells in the gaming industry.

The RPG mastermind has said on his blog that he was “completely pouring everything into [The Last Story], there is a strong feeling this may be my last work.”

His company, which was founded in 2004, has only released a few titles on the market. They include Xbox 360′s Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, as well as the aforementioned Last Story.

Funny enough, when he created Final Fantasy, Squaresoft was in financial debt and it was their ‘final fantasy’ to make it as a company. Looks like his final title might have relevance in his career path, as well.

Thanks, IncGamers.

I absolutely love the works of Hironobu Sakaguchi and it will be a sad day indeed when/if he decides to stop crafting his titles.

I hope the Last Story is NOT his last story!

Seriously….if there’s no more Final Fantasy games, the world won’t be the same…ever! :-P And as far as i joke about it – i’m absolutely serious at the same time.

    This just can’t happen.

@AiQi Sakaguchi doesn’t have involvement with the development of Final Fantasy anymore.

I know. I just automatically connect him with FF – and likewise.

PLEASE DON”T BE TRUE. I absolutely LOVE Mistwalker. I still REEAALLY want a PS3/360 BLUE DRAGON 2, the revival of (the awesome) CRY ON, & anything else on PS3/360. I will for sure buy The Last Story (it will be amazing), yet I truly wish it was not for Wii. I bow to the visionary grandmasters at Mistwalker….
