by [@salromano] at 10:22 AM EDT, July 8, 2010 .

Biart Studios’ Xbox 360 and PC title Underwater Wars has gotten a name change and development shift this morning. Publisher 505 Games has announced that they’ll be pushing the title to retail shelves for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year under a new name – Deep Black.

Deep Black is an underwater third-person shooter where an “immersive story” and “complex science-fiction mystery” collide. It’ll offer players realistic physics in its underwater setting. Players will be able to suit up with underwater jet packs with harpoons attached, mini submersibles, and other high-tech equipment designed for underwater use.

The game’s out Q1 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Check out the first two screens at the gallery.
