A new Assassin’s Creed has been announced today – and no, it’s not a new video game. Instead, Ubisoft has announced a new comic of franchise set somewhere and sometime in Russia.
Although, they haven’t exactly confirmed Russia as the setting.
They’ve released a logo and teaser video of the comic, in which we hear mentions of the Soviet Union. The voice-over for the video sounds pretty Russian, a well. The pair who created the comic make mention of their visit to Russia, too. On top of that, look at the logo. Looks pretty damn Russian, doesn’t it?
“We always thought that the Assassin’s Creed universe would be perfect for transmedia initiatives like this new comic series,” said Mathieu Ferland, transmedia senior producer at Ubisoft Montreal. “We are excited to have the fantastic and acclaimed artists Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl working on the project. Ubisoft is looking forward to showing Assassin’s Creed fans what these talented artists have been up to at next week’s Comic-Con panel.”
