Valve “gunning for” PS3 and PC cross-platform play for Portal 2
If the Portal 2 PlayStation 3 announcement wasn’t good enough, Valve has revealed that they’re planning on adding cross-compatibility between PlayStation 3 and PC players online.
Valve’s Erik Johnson said that this cross-platform play is “something the team is gunning for.”
Valve developer Mike Dunkie also confirmed “the plan is you will be able to play between console and PC.”
This is all possible thanks to the Steamworks bundled inside the PS3 version of the game.
Regarding any possible cross-platform play involving Xbox 360 and PC, Valve said that there are no current plans, as Microsoft wouldn’t allow it.
