Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto has announced that Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy Versus XIII director Tetsuya Nomura will be making an appearance at E3 this year.
“Last week was Asia, this week is Osaka. Next week, after a long time, director Nomura will go on a business trip to E3,” Hashimoto announced in a Twitter update.
In an earlier tweet, Hashimoto mentions he is “working on a new project with director Nomura” in the Square Enix Osaka studio.
What might Nomura have for the show? Square is currently localizing Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep for PSP, so that’s a possibility. Kingdom Hearts 3 is another possibility. Finally, the biggest stretch: it’s possible that he may be showing off Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

Would be nice to see a new Versus trailer…
No point in showing a game years away from now (that being Kingdom Hearts 3). It’s not as if we don’t know about BBS as well, which means FinaLFantasy Versus XIII should make a brief appearance at least.
No point?? Do you not remember how e3 2006 showed us the first glimpse of Final Fantasy XIII? xD
Either way I am glad he is joining the Conference this year and I am excited to see why he wants to be there. If we kind of break down the facts it should be quite simple. Birth by Sleep already has an American release date as well as a website. We know quite a lot about it so it would be rather disappointing for him to show off something we all know so much about. Then we have Kingdom Hearts 3. Something we know so little about. With so much effort trying to push Versus through and knowing that a lot of the Kingdom Hearts team is working on that going through, it is hard to imagine that they are steadily working on the development on Kingdom Hearts 3 to be able to show anything. So we reach our last little bit, Versus XIII. Something that we are dying for. We have been asking about it in every interview, we have been hoping it will make its appearance in E3 so my vote for what he is going to mainly show off for the 2010 E3 is Final Fantasy Versus XIII. With him last saying that development is “going well” gives me a strong feeling he will be showing some of it off at E3. Though Nomura is a tricky person, if it wasn’t going to make E3 due to development issues, I think he would have said something along the lines that “development is going well, but still not well enough.. ” something more hinting to it not being able to make it to the conferences.
My only hope is that he doesn’t show up on the Microsoft Conference forgetting to announce something important.. lol.
Honestly not expecting Versus to be there.
