The recent rumors of a new PS3 Tales game titled Tales of Unitia have gained more support this evening as a Japanese retailer has leaked the release date for PSP’s Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X as August 5, 2010.
You’re probably wondering just what exactly this has to do with the supposed Tales of Unitia, aren’t you?
Alongside the rumors of Tales of Unitia being announced for PlayStation 3 as a part of the series’ fifteenth anniversary was a release date for the PSP game. That release date was August 5.
Today’s leaked release date is August 5. Put two and two together and there’s a possibility this Tales of Unitia rumor isn’t a hoax.
Famitsu usually leaks tonight so if Tales of Unitia isn’t a myth, there might be something in there. If not them, Jump is more likely. If not either, the Tales of Festival 2010 is on June 5 – we’ll definitely find out there.
Thanks, Esuteru.

I hope so… I still don’t understand why PS3 TOV wasn’t released outside of Japan.
Because Namco hates its fans.
Oh, the Vesperian woe.
Yes What happend to Tales of Vesperia, it was one of my most wanted for the PS3
If this ‘Tales of Unitia’ turns out to be true, then I can kinda understand why they wouldn’t localise Vesperia on PS3.
They would rather localise a new full Tales game, than an upgrade of a game already localised in English on a different console.
I’m excited – however if it was such an early date as December in Japan (unlikely, considering Graces came out in Japan under a year ago), it is still many months away here from anything.
It all depends, to be honest.
Tales of Vesperia (360) launched in Japan on August 7, 2008 and came to the States only 19 days later on August 28th, so you never know.
@sal –
That’s true – I forgot they did the VA english/japanese work side-by-side for Vesperia.
I was thinking releasing another Tales Game only 12 months after Graces was unlikely, however there was only about 16 months between the JP release of Vesperia and Graces. So the supposed time frame could work.
Guess we’ll wait and see..
