Update: Metal Gear Solid 4 producer Kenichiro Imaizumi says that this is “just a rumor“.
Original: According to a senior US publishing source close to CVG, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is set to announce a “major PlayStation 3 exclusive” title at the Tokyo Games Show come this September.
The site obtained this knowledge yesterday at E3, where they were told that the legendary developer will announce a “massive PS3 exclusive that will own the show” come TGS.
Konami’s publishing. Go figure. Apparently, Kojima wanted to show the game off at E3, but has chosen to polish his demo until September in order “to ensure it’s bulletproof”.
Kojima Productions, the developer’s studio, showed off three games at E3 this past week: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (in conjunction with Mercury Steam), Metal Gear Solid: Rising (which is being developed by a younger team and not Kojima-san himself), and Metal Gear Solid 3DS: Snake Eater for Nintendo’s new handheld.

Could it be ZONE OF THE ENDERS 3?
PLEASE be a PS3/360 SNATCHER / POLICENAUTS / ZOE 3 / ANYTHING HEAVILY SCI-FI WITH MECHA. Nothing MGS related please. By the way, MGS Rising is simply beyond the coolest thing ever….
If it’s going to “rock the show” it’s probably a sequel since a new IP can hardly be something be huge since it’s unproven.
So you guys are probably right. It’s most likely Policenauts or Enders. Either way the fact that he’s bringing something to the PS3 exclusively is good news for Sony. They need it right now. They’re getting pummeled in other tech/gaming blogs.
Garh, September is a long way away.
ZONE OF THE ENDERS 3 , AMEN
