I forgot about the Power Save settings. Where are those?
Anyway, I tried out the new Facebook features in the Photo Gallery (slow as sap in winter) but I was unpleasantly surprised by the fact that the video editing feature won’t work because all the videos on my system were put onto the system BEFORE the update. So now I either need to delete and add them again or just forget about it. I mean really, if Sony wanted this to work they would’ve at least provided a clip to play with but now they’re forcing me to add and/or re-add videos so i can cut them up.
Bad move.
Good thing Sony’s giving away 3 free months of Playstation Plus with an annual subscription because it’ll probably take that long before the service is actually worth anything. I saw an hour-long trial of inFamous and saw $1 off for a couple games but until they get more content in there it’s worthless.
I also think it’s high time Sony dump the current XMB. There’s just too much stuff in there now. The XMB works great for TV’s and DVD players because there’s not much there but now that there’s tons of stuff under each icon I think it’s starting to get a little crowded.
My last gripe is that the Video Uploader is called the “Video Uploader”. That’s the best Sony could do? That’s not sexy or interesting (the icon is violently boring too). The naming convention for Sony is so friggin’ boring.
Playstation Network. Playstation Store. Photo Gallery and now Video Uploader. It’s just so bland and generic and, as usual, NONE of it is consistent. The Store, the Photo Gallery, the Video Uploader, the What’s New tiles, Home; everything looks great but they don’t look great together.
Get it together Sony.
