Square Enix’s ‘Project X’ is an RPG

Square Enix’s ‘Project X’, which was said in the past that it’ll “blow your socks off“, has been revealed to be a role-playing game today – the update coming once again from David Hoffman’s Twitter account.
“New milestone just rolled in on Project X,” Hoffman wrote in a status update. “Can’t wait to reveal the latest and greatest RPG to come outta Square Enix.”
It’s suspected this RPG is to be a collaboration between Square Enix and another company. In the same update where Hoffman said our socks would be blown off, he also said: “The media thought SE and GPG was interesting – just wait!”
E3 is around the corner – less than three weeks away – so we’ll probably find out what exactly this ‘Project X’ is at the show.

COOL…..I got a feeling that dis 1 will be FF 7 dirge of Cerberus 2….LOL
Maybe they will be producing Dark Cloud 3, that would be sweet!
Is it confirmed if this is a new IP or something from an existing franchise? If its franchise I think it might be something like a sequel or remake of an old, perhaps SNES era Square game. If new, well then who knows?
The only thing that could “blow my socks off” is a remake of Final Fantasy 7 or a new Final Fantasy tactics game.
I wish Square would games like the Super NES era. Most of all JRPGs these days have lost their charm. The Dragon Quest titles is the only thing that holds it close to the old school days.
This better be something innovative and compelling. Hopefully no tolkien-esque RPG/Setting because that gets very annoying.

Dark Cloud is a SONY IP
Dark Cloud is a LEVEL-5 IP, SONY was merely publishing company. They could have lost a publishing bid to SQUARE ENIX.
Also, even if it was an IP by SONY, SONY owns 40 percent of Squenix so that would be no problem asking them to be the producer. However, it is done by LEVEL-5 and as he said “The media thought SE and GPG was interesting – just wait!” Possible Level-5 SE team up?
NO Dark Cloud is not a Level5 IP, Level 5 is only the developer…
if you have the Case from the game you can see its a Trademark of Sony
And Sony has only 8.25% of the stock from S-E

btw i hope Sony Aquires S-E really, or buys some more stocks
My research is a little out of date, SONY use to hold 20 percent of SE (40 was a typo). I am currently under the impression that an IP is based by developer rather than the producer. SONY is the producer of Dark Cloud much like SE was the producer for Call of Duty in Japan. This, however, does not make Call of Duty a Square IP. Level-5 could easily change producers or even team up with another company to create the next Dark Cloud, all I was saying is that it would be neat to have a SE twist to it.
^Sorry, where you see producer insert publisher^
look at the official dark Cloud site
below you will see dark cloud is a Sony IP
same with Rogue Galaxy and White Knight Chronicles

That’s good and all, but SE could still work with them to create a Dark Cloud 3. It’s called a partnership. The quote “The media thought SE and GPG was interesting – just wait!” This alludes to a partnership, Level-5, SONY, Bungee, Naughty
Dog, who cares who made it the point is SE could play a part in its development. That’s all I was saying.
It’s better be good Square. I mean, most their recent games were not so great, to say the least… ( i liked them, but well, they got criticized quite a lot ), so show us what you’re capable of – come on, this is Square, the brains behind one of the best rpg games ever created ( for me it’s chrono trigger and final fantasy 7+10 ) so….thumbs up, and waiting sick :)
It would be cool if they did something with atlus.
