Square Enix’s “Project X” hinted as a western RPG
by [@salromano] at 08:59 PM EDT, May 26, 2010 .

Square Enix Director of Business Development and Executive Producer David Hoffman has been tossing hints around about Square Enix’s upcoming “Project X”, which is a “shocking” RPG said to “blow your socks off”.

Today, he added another hint to the salad bowl seemingly confirming that the game is a western title and not Japanese.

When a Square Enix fan asked whether the game is being created by a western or Japanese developer, Hoffman replied:

“Well my job is to drive relationships with N American companies and create games that have a global appeal. Hm, did I answer you?”

If you didn’t get it, he’s basically hinting at the game being developed by a North American company.

We’ll see just exactly what this “Project X” is soon. If Square Enix has their way, we’ll hear about it before E3.

Thanks, Examiner.

I THINK ALL JAPANESE COMPANIES SHOULD KEEP ALL DEVELOPMENT JAPANESE – THAT’S WHY I BUY ‘JAPANESE’ TITLES, PLUS THEY ALWAYS HAVE BETTER ART & STYLE……

Eh? Western oriented type RPG? Concerns are popping around in my head, but I will keep an open mind.

Unless they try something completely different. A plot that Final Fantasy *would* have with a better Battle System.
