SCEA: We’re saving “PLENTY” for E3
by [@salromano] at 07:01 AM EDT, May 11, 2010 .

With yesterday’s (formal) LittleBigPlanet 2 announcement, you’re probably wondering what Sony has in store for gamers at E3, considering they’ve announced the sequel a month before the show.

Naturally, if you have a lot of games to announce, you don’t want to throw them all out at once, correct? Instead, you’ll want to spread them out, making the announcements easier to follow. Looks like that’s what Sony’s doing with LittleBigPlanet 2.

On the PlayStation.Blog, a gamer asked what Sony’s saving for E3, shaking a bit as he wrote his question. SCEA PR Manager Eric Levine responded with a simple, yet enthralling “PLENTY!!!”

Back in March, SCEA CEO Jack Tretton promised that this year’s E3 will “certainly bring the heat” from Sony, promising “a lot of new stuff”.

That certainly excites us.

Actually, in the context the user was asking…I actually think he asked what MM had in store for E3, not Sony as a whole.

I never thought about that but yeah, it does make me wonder why they would release details on one of their most beloved and money making franchises on the PS3 a month before the show starts. Seems like they would want to save big news like that (and what LPB2 has in store is big) for E3.

Obviously they’ll be showing Move but even that’s sort of old news at this point. FFXIV was announced last year, GT5 won’t surprise anyone (unless they announce an actual release date); I guess there’s always Agent or maybe they’ll lower the price of the PS3 to $199 (not that they need to because I think current sales are booming).

I find it hard to believe that there could be a bigger game to talk about then LBP2 but I guess this “PLENTY” comment will prove me wrong come E3.

I think games like Agent, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and Gran Turismo 5 qualify for games as big or bigger than LittleBigPlanet 2 and are all worth talking about (especially Versus XIII).

Then again, they’ll probably show them all, but you need to think about the games that have yet to be announced. inFAMOUS 2 is probably happening. What else can Sony have up their sleeves?

Yeah, inFAMOUS 2 might be announced. I’m hoping they put a new and better update.

I forgot about that. They’ll probably announce details regarding that premium PlayStation Network we’ve been hearing so much about.

  4. I could care less about sequels to PS3 titles such as Killzone, Infamous, and Resistance. The only title that would be nice is Uncharted 3.

With that said, I prefer a Twisted Metal, Jak and Daxter, and Syphon Filter. I don’t know if it would happen here but a Demon’s Souls 2 would be pretty awesome. Besides that, I want new IPs.
