Marvel vs. Capcom 3, announced at this year’s Captivate event, is approaching a critical point in its development, according to producer Akihito Kadowaki.

“We’re making the game with the aim of, above all else, getting Versus series fans excited,” Kadowaki wrote in a Japanese Marvel vs. Capcom 3 official blog update.

He noted a few facts about the third game that some people may not have known. It’s the first Versus series game being developed on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and this is the first fighting game using MT Framework.

“Of course you should look forward to gameplay, but expect things of the visuals as well.

“Development is approaching a climax,” he added. Kadowaki finished by saying that there’s a large amount of content to be worked on, as well as promotions and advertising, and there’s no time to take it easy.

He ended it by saying that the first time the game will be shown at an event. E3 is next month, so that’s what we’re betting on.
