The latest issue of Famitsu magazine has announced a new PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 action game from publisher Namco Bandai titled Knights Contract.

Knights Contract centers around Heinrich and Gretchen, a man cursed with immortality and the witch who cursed him. Heinrich and Gretchen from some sort of “Knight Contract” where the two end up working together to solve some sort of task. Gretchen appears to have traveled from a different time period in order to fight Faust (some German legend).

Players control Heinrich, who wields swords with a length greather than his own height. Gretchen trails along, offering support magic.

As seen in the scans, there’s plenty of strange creatures and flashy action to be found. It kind of makes me think of Bayonetta for some reason.

Knights Contract is scheduled for a 2011 release.
