Insomniac and EA’s multiplatform deal in video

Earlier today, Insomniac Games announced a new partnership alongside EA Partners for a new intellectual property for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, making it the first time in the studio’s sixteen-year history that they’ve developed on a non-PlayStation platform.
The Ratchet & Clank developer has released a video featuring its president and CEO Ted Price who talks about the newly-announced deal. According to him, we can expect to hear more about the new IP “over the next few months”.
Price reassured PlayStation fans today that they still have a “very strong” relationship with Sony and will continue to develop games exclusively for PlayStation 3 alongside their new EA deal.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of quality they can squeeze out of the 360. As we’ve seen with many PS3 and 360 games the system is only as powerful as the developer’s tools and imagination.
I’m not really a fan of either the R&C games or the Resistance franchise so this isn’t really big loss and besides, it’s not like they’re going anywhere, just spreading the butter on another slice of toast. So long as they don’t thin themselves out by trying to do too much they’ll keep their loyal fan base.
