Criterion: We’re not making a new SSX
by [@salromano] at 05:55 PM EDT, May 24, 2010 .

Criterion Games has confirmed that they’re not working on a new game in the SSX snowboarding series, and are instead completely focused on the new Need For Speed title they’ve been developing.

“False I’m afraid,” Criterion replied to a Twitter account asking them if the SSX rumors were true. “We’re doing this thing called Need for Speed. It’s all about tarmac not snow. We just dig SSX for fun…”

No new SSX it seems – at least not from Criteron.

Thanks, TheSixthAxis.

That sucks because SSX3 was one of the best games on the PS2. I actually own it although I never play it.

It would be awesome to have that game redone with today’s graphics. So long as EA goes back to what made the series great instead of the last game in the series that completely sucked. They got away from the whimsical and charming characters and tried to turn the franchise into Tony Hawk in the snow. Didn’t work.

SSX Tricky and SSX3 were some of the best sports games Ive played! I wish they would make another and keep it the style of these original PS2 classics.
